Lawrence United Methodist Church Program Coordinator Ministry Job Description Purpose  The Director will coordinate ministry programming that happensin the life of Lawrence United Methodist Church.  The Director will work with ministry teams, staff, and the Church Council.  The Program Director will work with and report to the Pastor. Time Requirements Thisposition isconsidered part-time (10 hours). However, time will vary depending on the events of the week, includingweekday programs, special or seasonal events, regular meetings with Pastor, staff and/or volunteers, and personal prep and organization time. Description of Duties  Assist the Pastor in carrying out the vision of the church  Help equip and train leadersof programsat Lawrence UMC  Insure that set up, clean up, and leaders are set for every event  Dream ahead and follow up on upcomingprogramming  Help evaluate programming  Develop new members to volunteer for programming  Lead New MembersClass and welcome new members  Annual events include, but arenot limited to: Martin Luther King Jr. Service Mozel Sanders Thanksgiving Dinner Sunrise Easter Service ChristmasEve Services Fish Fry YoungAdultsMonthly Events Adult Monthly Events Lawrence United Methodist Church Director of Children’sMinistry Job Description Purpose  The Director will coordinate ministries relating to infants(nursery) through 5th grade. Oversee youth ministries on Sunday mornings(6th-12th grades)  The Director will also work with and report to the Children’sMinistry Team which oversees and organizes the children’sevents and programs.  The Children’sDirector will work with and report to the Pastor. Time Requirements Thisposition isconsidered part-time (30 hours). However, time will vary, dependingon the events of the week, includingweekday programs, special or seasonal events, regular meetings with Pastor, staff and/or volunteers, and personal prep and organization time. Description of Duties  Assist the Pastor in carrying out the vision of our Children’sMinistry.  Prepare Children’sMoment every Sunday to coincide with pastor’ssermon.  Prepare and send out Child Care schedule every other month for Sunday Worship.  Recruit and train Sunday school teachers& substitutes for school year and summer months.  Recruit teachersand provide Safe Sitter trainingfor childcareworkers (for infantsand toddlers)  Complete background checks and child protection paperwork for personsworking with minor children at LUMC, includingincident reports.  Write monthly Beacon articles for children’sactivities.  Attend training seminarsas time and money permit. Give support to leaders of the ELF’s (Elementary Lawrence Fellowship) group.  Serve on Church Council and Children’sMinistry Team. Attend meetings as called.  Give leadership to Annual Events including but not limited to: Christian Education Sunday Parents’ Night Out or Family Fun Night No TricksJust Treats(Halloween) ChristmasCookie Walk Christmasand Easter mission projectsfor Sunday school Children’s Christmascaroling to shut-ins Easter Egg Hunt Vacation Bible School Christian Education Celebration Dinner
