I am so proud of the more then 18 youth who helped at the fish fry this past weekend. The youth at LUMC were excited about helping. Anita Oxedine told me that each day her kids were begging to come up to the fish fry and once they got here they didn't leave. Jerry and I would like to say the kids wanted to be around us that much but it was really the serving they wanted to do so bad. Joannie Clark had to break up an argument amongst 2 of the younger kids because they didn't want to take turns serving others. Joannie was not the only one cooling things off during these 3 hot days but Tiffany Rose bought some water balloons and Bill and Barbara Hall invited the youth to come over each night and jump in the pool and that we did. Sue Reed and Frank Wampler made sure the kids didn't get grumpy by making sure there tummies were filled with hot dogs, and homemade choc. chip cookies. The fry guys messed up a few funnel cakes that just had to be eaten by the youth and Mr. Carl Clark would throw a fry or two or more our way. I am proud of the 18 youth who came to serve this weekend. There was a lot of serving going on during the fish fry and our prayer is that while tummies were being fed fish and cole slaw that hearts were being fed the love of God.
